Cleveland State Cross Country Returns To Action At Lansing Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Following a two week break from competition the Cleveland State cross country team will return to the course this weekend, competing in the Lansing Invitational on Friday, October 1.

The Race 
Friday's Lansing Invitational will be hosted by Lansing Community College and will take place at Grand Woods Park in Lansing, Michigan. The women's race is slated for a 12:30 p.m. start.

Last Time Out 
Cleveland State was last in action at the All-Ohio Championships on September 17, where Kiannah Sarver paced the Vikings with a 55th place overall finish in the first 6K of the season. 

So Far This Season
Through the first three races of the 2021 campaign, sophomore transfer Kiannah Sarver has paced the Vikings in two races (Tommy Titan, All-Ohio), while true-freshman Madelynn Madison was Cleveland State's top finisher at the Wooster Invite. 

2021 Schedule 
Friday's race will be the fourth of seven scheduled meets for the Vikings this season, as they transition back to their normal fall lineup. Cleveland State will participate in five regular season meets, before taking part in the 2021 Horizon League Championships at the end of October and the NCAA Regionals during the beginning of November.
