Cleveland State Falls At Horizon League Tournament

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Seventh-seeded Cleveland State saw its season come to a close Friday afternoon at UW-Green Bay's Phoenix Sports Center as second-seeded UW-Milwaukee handed the Vikings a 30-20, 30-25, 30-25 loss.

The Panthers' all-league trio of Sarah Potts, Lindsey Spoden and Tari Boutin provided much of the damage. Potts finished with 11 kills, 14 digs and three blocks while Spoden contributed 39 assists, 13 digs and four blocks. Boutin, the 2002 Horizon League Player of the Year, notched 10 kills and 12 digs.

Senior Michelle Iafigliola (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) closed out a stellar career at Cleveland State with a match-high 13 kills as well as 13 digs. Freshman Alisa Hatcher (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Bellefontaine), the Horizon League Co-Newcomer Team of the Year, finished with seven kills, 11 digs and four service aces. In addition, all-league selection Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel)recorded 10 kills.

Cleveland State finishes at 18-13 for its first winning season since 1983.
