INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State junior middle hitter Marie Frease has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Vikings to a pair of victories over the final weekend of regular season play. The Horizon League made the announcement Monday (Nov. 14) afternoon.

Frease, who earns the weekly honor for the first time in her career, was a strong part of the Viking offense during both matches last weekend, posting 13 kills against Green Bay and a career-high 15 against Loyola. The Massillon, Ohio native also tallied four blocks against the Ramblers and five against the Phoenix, including two block solos. In league matches only, Frease led the conference with a .330 hitting percentage (142-43-300).

With the 3-1 victory over Green Bay last Saturday (Nov. 12), the Vikings notched their 20th win of the season, the fourth time in the last five years that CSU has reached the 20-win mark. CSU also enters this weekend's Horizon League Championship as the No. 2 seed, after ending 2011 with a 13-3 league mark.

The Vikings earned a bye during the quarterfinals of the tournament and will have their first match on Saturday (Nov. 19) during the semifinals. CSU will play the highest remaining seed out of the four teams playing in the quarterfinals; (3) Butler, (4) Valparaiso, (5) UIC and (6) Green Bay.
