Jamie Bouyer Earns Academic All-District Honors

CLEVELAND - Cleveland State's Jamie Bouyer has been ranked among the nation's best on the volleyball court all season long and today she was recognized for her work in the classroom. Bouyer, who carries a 3.77 GPA in sports management, was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District volleyball second team for District IV.

A native of Bedford Heights, Ohio, Bouyer ranks sixth in the nation in blocks per game (1.58) and 30th in hitting percentage (.370), leading the Horizon League in both categories. She is first in the nation in block assists (157) and total blocks (186) and is second in the league in points per game (5.13) and seventh in kills per game (4.02).

She was also named league player of the week on Sept. 23 after posting three 20-kill matches in a row (including a career-high 26 kills in consecutive matches), a. 455 hitting percentage, 5.21 kills per game and 1.96 blocks per game.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team is a part of the CoSIDA Academic All-America program. First team selections will appear on the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's Volleyball team.

Cleveland State (16-15, 3-10 HL) closes out the regular season tonight at Youngstown State before taking part in the Horizon League Championship Nov. 21-23 at Butler.
