CSU's Jamie Bouyer Named Horizon League Volleyball Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Cleveland State middle hitter Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) has been named the Horizon League Volleyball Athlete of the Week for the period ending November 3, the league office announced late Monday.

Bouyer, a 6-2 sophomore, led the Vikings to a 2-1 mark last week, averaging 4.64 kills and 1.36 blocks while hitting an impressive .518 (51K-7E-85TA) in 11 games.

In CSU's near-upset of league-leading UW-Milwaukee on Nov. 1, Bouyer pounded down a career-high 24 kills while hitting .600 (24K-3E-35TA). One day later in a four-game win over UW-Green Bay, Bouyer collected 21 kills and seven blocks. She opened the week with five blocks, three service aces and a .545 hitting efficiency (6K-0E-11TA in a shutout victory at St. Francis.

Bouyer ranks second in the Horizon League in hitting percentage (.320), fourth in blocks per game (1.16) and ninth in kills (3.33).
