CLEVELAND, Ohio - After helping Cleveland State to a weekend split in Chicago, sophomore Beth Greulich has been tabbed as the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week. It marks the second consecutive week and the third time in her career that Greulich has earned the honor.

In Friday's 3-0 sweep at Loyola, Greulich posted 19 kills and just two attack errors as she hit .531. The following night, Greulich recorded 14 kills in a 3-2 loss at UIC. In the two matches, Greulich tallied 33 kills and seven blocks in eight games, while hitting a combined .391 (33-8-64).

With her performance over the weekend, Greulich is now ranked second in the conference in hitting percentage (.309) behind teammate Amy Benz (.340).

Greulich, who earned Horizon League Newcomer of the Year and first team all-league honors last season, has picked up her game during league play. After hitting a respectable .285 and averaging 2.68 kills and 0.85 blocks per game in 11 nonconference matches, Greulich has raised those numbers to .324, 3.23 kills and 0.98 blocks per game in 14 conference matches.

CSU (18-7, 11-3) will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Valparaiso at 4:00 p.m. in Woodling Gym. The Vikings will wrap up at least the No. 2 seed in the league tournament with a win.
