CLEVELAND, Ohio - After leading the Vikings to a 2-1 homestand last week, Cleveland State junior Beth Greulich has been selected as the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week.

The league office made the announcement on Monday (Oct. 13) afternoon.

"This is a nice honor for Beth," head coach Chuck Voss said. "She really played well in our three matches last week and got into a groove offensively. Hopefully that will carry over to our matches this weekend and as we get closer to the league championship."

Greulich helped Cleveland State to a pair of wins last week -- a 3-0 blanking of Youngstown State on Tuesday (25-19, 25-21, 25-20) and 3-1 decision over Green Bay on Saturday (25-22, 16-25, 25-21, 25-13). The outside hitter tallied a team-best 42 kills and 11 blocks for the week.

A native of Troy, Ohio, Greulich is earning the honor after ranking among Horizon League leaders in hitting percentage (2nd, .352), kills per set (2nd, 3.82) and points per set (3rd, 4.36). She was the conference's only individual to place in the top three of all three categories last week.

CSU will be back in action on Friday (Oct. 17) when the Vikings travel to UIC for an 8:00 p.m. EDT match. The Vikings will play at Loyola at 5:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, Oct. 18.
