INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State junior outside hitter Kara Koch has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Vikings to three league wins last week. The Horizon League made the announcement Monday (Oct. 10) afternoon.

"Kara had a great week for us both offensively and defensively," head coach Chuck Voss said. "It's great to see her rewarded for all of her hard work that she puts into this program. Kara has been one of our biggest offensive threats throughout the season and has been playing at a high level for us."

Koch recorded two double-doubles last week as CSU defeated Green Bay, Valparaiso and UIC to secure its second place standing in the league. She combined for 43 kills and 48 digs over the week and now ranks second in the league averaging 3.97 kills per set, while she leads CSU with 246 on the season.

Koch's double-doubles came in the 3-2 win over Valparaiso and the 3-0 sweep of UIC. She notched a season-high 23 kills and a season-best 21 digs against the Crusaders, while she tallied 16 kills and 17 digs against the Flames.

The Vikings will be back in action this weekend as CSU hosts Wright State at 7:00 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 14) and Butler at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 15).
