Volleyball's Jamie Bouyer Earns All-Tournament Nod

Freshman Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) opened up her college career with a bang by being named all-tournament at the Clarion Hotel Westgate Rocket Volleyball Classic over the weekend.

The 6-0 middle hitter led the Vikings over the three matches with 3.70 kills per game while hitting .470 (37K-6E-66TA) for the tournament. In addition, she recorded three block solos and 12 block assists to go along with 18 digs and a pair of service aces.

Bouyer got off to a good start against Western Kentucky on Friday night, putting down a team-high 13 kills with just one error in 16 attempts for a .750 hitting efficiency. The rookie also tallied three blocks against the Hilltoppers.

She followed with another team-high 13 kills, hitting .370, and four blocks in a four-game loss to host Toledo. Bouyer wrapped up the weekend with eight blocks and 11 kills (hitting .391) in a three-game win over Chicago State.
