MILWAUKEE, Wis. - After advancing to the Championship match of the Horizon League tournament for the fifth time under head coach Chuck Voss, the Cleveland State volleyball team fell to No. 1 seeded Milwaukee, 3-0. Kara Koch and Jackie Dabbelt represented the Vikings on the All-Tournament team, marking the second time that Dabbelt has earned the honor and the first time that Koch has been named to the team.

Throughout the tournament, Koch tallied 43 kills, 25 digs and four blocks, while Dabbelt posted 14 kills on a .306 attack percentage.

Set scores against the Panthers were 15-25, 21-25, 16-25.

During the opening frame the two teams traded points throughout the first half until the 6-6 mark when the Vikings tied the set for the fourth time. The Panthers then rattled off five straight points to gain an 11-6 advantage and would hold the lead for the remainder of the set. The Vikings were able to post back-to-back points just twice throughout the frame as the Panthers came away with the 25-15 first set victory.

Milwaukee jumped out to a 4-0 lead to start the second set and held the Vikings to consecutive points just two times throughout the first half of the frame. After Milwaukee earned an eight point lead at the 22-14 mark, CSU crept back into the set posting five straight points to come within three points at 22-19. Following back-to-back errors by Cleveland State the Panthers earned a 24-19 set point, but the Vikings were able to fend off two set points with a Milwaukee error and a Dabbelt kill. Milwaukee finally put the set away on the following point after forcing a CSU error.

Despite opening the final set with a 4-1 lead, the Vikings were unable to hold strong, as the Panthers earned a 25-16 victory during the final frame. Milwaukee gained their second lead of the frame at the 8-7 mark and posted five straight points to extend their lead to four points (11-7). This would be a lead that the Panthers would not relinquish, as they held at least a three point lead for the remainder of the frame.

Koch and Ally Beck led the Viking offense against Milwaukee, Koch tallying nine kills and Beck adding eight. Jordan Goad posted 26 assists for the Vikings, while Amy Grabiec had a team-high 12 digs.
