Final Stats

CLEVELAND - Led by Michelle Iafigliola's (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) 19 kill-19 dig performance, Cleveland State rolled past visiting Illinois-Chicago in three games Friday night, 30-25, 3-22, 30-26 at Woodling Gymansium.

Iafigliola, a 5-10 outside hitter, made just two errors in 32 attempts for a sparkling .531 hitting efficiency as the Vikings posted a team hitting percentage of .352.

CSU, which saw a 10-game winning streak snapped last weekend, remained undefeated at home this season, winning their seventh match at Woodling. The Vikes improved to 13-5 overall and 2-2 in the Horizon League. UIC, which entered the match ranked fifth in the Midwest Region, dropped to 14-7, 2-2.

While the Vikings remained steady in the hitting department, UIC was inconsistent and finished with a .198 efficiency. Although the Flames hit .344 in the second game, they posted .107 in the first game and .146 in the third.

CSU's also got 13 kills and five blocks from sophomore middle blocker Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) while setter Kelly Crain (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) added eight kills, hitting .583.

Junior outside hitter Teaha Sheppard led the Flames with 10 kills.
