BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Cleveland State volleyball continued to roll in New York Friday night, beating host Niagara University 30-27, 30-22, 30-19 at the Gallahgher Center as part of the Western New York/Holiday Inn Invitational.
The victory marked the Viking's seventh straight win, equaling CSU's longest winning streak since 1988. In addition, the Vikes improved to 9-3 for their best start since the 1983 season.
Senior Michelle Iafigliola (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) recorded a match-high 13 kills while sophomore middle hitter Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) added 10 kills while hitting .316. In addition, Bouyer took a career-high with three block solos.
For the match, CSU dominated the Purple Eagles in hitting, posting a .273 hitting efficiency (45K-18E-99TA) compared to .098 (32K-22E-102TA) for Niagara.
