A strong overall performance propelled Cleveland State to its fourth straight victory as the Vikings upended Elon University 30-13, 30-22, 30-22 Saturday afternoon in the Medical Mutual CSU Volleyball Invitational at Woodling Gymnasium.
CSU, 5-3, hit .411 for the match (57K-11E-112TA) while limited the Phoenix to just a .074 hitting efficiency (29K-21E-108TA).
Sophomore Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) was a force both offensively and defensively. The 6-0 middle hitter hit .571 while recording a match-high 14 kills and added 10 blocks (three solo, seven assists), which tied her career high.
Freshman outside hitter Alisa Hatcher (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Bellefontaine) tagged 12 kills while hitting .524 and senior middle hitter Kristine Dabbelt (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) hit .562 with nine kills.
Senior outside hitter Michelle Iafigliola (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) notched a match-high 14 digs while sophomore setter Kelly Crain (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) added 10 digs while dealing out 44 assists.
