Toledo - Freshman Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) hit .750 against Western Kentucky in Cleveland State's season opener at the Clarion Hotel Westgate Rocket Volleyball Classic at Savage Hall but the Vikings fell to the Lady Toppers 3-0 (30-21, 30-22, 30-25).
Bouyer, a 6-0 middle hitter, led the Vikings with 13 kills and committed just one error in 16 attempts. She also recorded a team-high three blocks (one solo, two assists) and added six digs. Sophomore Anne Yost (London, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) added a career-high 10 kills while hitting .391 (one error, 23 attempts).
As a team, the Vikings hit .248 (39K-13E-105TA) while Western Kentucky hit .322 (55K-17E-118TA). WKU's Jessica Willard and Tara Thomas took game honors with 15 kills apiece.
