Whitney Dalessandro provides the Vikings with an experienced backrow player who as a senior, will provide the squad with leadership both on and off the court. She has continued to work on her ball control and passing skills and will have a chance to compete for a spot in the defensive specialist rotation this year. In addition, Dalessandro is one of the top servers on the team and has often been called upon to provide a key serve at crucial moments in a match.

2010 Season (Junior)

• Saw action in four matches, playing six sets and a reserve defensive specialist and spot server.

2009 Season (SOPHOMORE)

• Played in 10 matches, all as a reserve defensive specialist or a serving specialist.

• Recorded lone service ace of the season in win over Howard (9/11).

2008 Season (FRESHMAN)

• Earned an appearance in 16 matches, all of which were as a reserve in the backrow.

• Totaled eight digs, two assists and one block in her appearances.

• Had a two-dig effort against Valparaiso (11/1).

• Notched one dig in six other matches.

• Made lone block of season at Wright State (9/26).

• Tallied an assist at Loyola (10/18) and against Kansas (9/12).

High School

• Selected to all-league honorable mention team and all-district squad as a senior.

• Served as a captain as a senior, leading squad to a 17-9 mark and a district runner-up finish.

• Back-up setter on 2004 team that went 27-2, won league title and advanced to state final four.

• Earned four letters in volleyball playing for coach Diane Shanklin.

• Born March 13, 1990 in Orrville, Ohio.

• Daughter of Bill and Sandi Dalessandro.

• Has two brothers, Andrew and Michael.

• Four-year member of high school honor roll.

• Served as a volleyball coach for the Boys and Girls Club.

• Earned CSU's Athletic Academic Excellence Award in 2009.
