Cleveland State’s DeGeorge & Greene Named To #HLVB All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the Spring 2021 Volleyball All-Academic Team Tuesday afternoon, with Cleveland State seniors Emily DeGeorge and Hannah Greene earning a spot on the 12-player team.

DeGeorge and Greene both graduated last weekend at Cleveland State's Spring 2021 Commencement – DeGeorge with a degree in nursing and Greene with a degree in health sciences.

As a Summa Cum Laude graduate, DeGeorge finished her collegiate career with a 3.96 cumulative GPA as an annual recipient of Cleveland State University Dean's List honors.

On the court, DeGeorge concluded her time as a Viking ranked fifth in the CSU Career Record Book with 1,307 total digs. As a six-rotation player, DeGeorge averaged 2.21 kills and 3.26 digs as a senior, helping the Vikings to a winning record during the shortened 2021 spring campaign.

Greene earned Magna Cum Laude honors at last weekend's commencement, after graduating with a 3.75 cumulative GPA and earning multiple Cleveland State University Dean's List honors.

During the 2021 spring season, Greene ranked in the top-10 among league players in four categories; Blocks (2nd, 1.16), Kills (6th, 3.23), Points (6th, 3.99), and Hitting Percentage (9th, .275). As a three-time All-League honoree, Greene finished her time in the Green & White ranked seventh in the CSU Career Record Book with 391 total blocks, and eighth with 330 block assists and 61 solo blocks.

This marks the third time that DeGeorge has been named to the #HLVB All-Academic Team, while it is the first appearance for Greene.
