CLEVELAND STATE MATCH NOTES

QUICK SETS
The Cleveland State volleyball team will close out the 2019 regular season this weekend, hosting Northern Kentucky and IUPUI in the final homestand of the year. The Vikings will host the Norse at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, and will then host the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16.

2019 SENIOR DAY
Saturday's contest against IUPUI will serve as Senior Day for Cleveland State, as the Vikings will honor the trio of Katie Jorn, Jordan Verbiak and Trinniti Hall prior to the match. Verbiak and Hall led the Vikings to a pair of Horizon League Tournament titles as freshmen and sophomores, and have helped CSU combine for 70+ wins over their four seasons, while Jorn joined the Vikings as a junior transfer prior to the 2018 campaign.

GRECOL NOTCHES 2,000TH CAREER ASSIST
Last time out, sophomore Christina Grecol eclipsed the 2,000-assist mark for her career, entering the final week of the 2019 campaign with 2,019 total helpers. Grecol, who reached the milestone following a 26-assist performance at UIC, is just the eighth Viking all-time to record 2,000+ assists on their career. Among Horizon League players, Grecol is one of four setters to have 2,000 or more assists on their career, but the only sophomore to achieve the feat.

…GRECOL ON THE CSU CAREER ASSIST TOP-10 LIST
Entering this weekend's matches against NKU and IUPUI, Christina Grecol ranks eighth in the CSU Career Record Book with 2,019 total assists, and needs just 26 more helpers to move into seventh place on the list. So far this season, Grecol has posted 928 total helpers, and ranks third among league players averaging 9.47 assists per set.

DeGEORGE CLOSING IN ON CSU CAREER DIGS LIST
Entering the final weekend of the regular season, junior Emily DeGeorge is just shy of earning a spot on the top-10 digs list, currently standing at 1,082 after notching her 1,000th career dig against Youngstown State (10/18) earlier this season. DeGeorge, who is averaging 3.23 digs per set this season, needs 25 more digs to move into 10th place on the list, and would join Christina Grecol as the only two active Vikings to be ranked in the CSU Career Record Book.

GREENE NOTCHES 300 CAREER BLOCKS
Earlier this month, junior Hannah Greene eclipsed the 300 block mark for her career, entering the weekend with 312 total blocks. Greene, who ranks sixth in the Horizon League with 1.03 blocks per set this season, is the first active Viking to reach the 300-block plateau. On the year, Greene has posted three or more blocks in all but five matches, including a season-high 11 blocks against Milwaukee (10/4).

HALL ON THE OFFENSIVE END
Senior Trinniti Hall enters the weekend leading the Viking offense with 332 total kills this year, and ranks third in the Horizon League averaging 3.35 kills per set. Hall, who has 916 kills on her career, is one of six #HLVB players to have 300+ kills on the season, and has tallied double-digit kills in 22 of 25 matches so far this season.

…AND ON THE DEFENSIVE END
Over the last few weeks Trinniti Hall has had to move into a new role following an adjustment to the Viking lineup, and is now an integral part of the Viking defense. Throughout the last eight matches, Hall is averaging 2.93 digs per set, and has tallied 10+ digs during five of the eight contests. For the year, Hall is averaging 1.67 digs per set, and is the only league player to have 300+ kills, 150+ digs and 75+ blocks on the year.

PENFIELD CONTINUES STRONG COLLEGIATE DEBUT
After joining the Viking lineup for the first time this season against Oakland, freshman Chelsea Penfield has had an immediate impact in the Viking front row, averaging 1.32 kills and 1.11 blocks per set. Last time out, Penfield posted a season-high 12 kills at UIC, marking her first double-digit kill match of the season. On the block, Penfield has recorded three or more blocks in six of seven matches so far this season, including a season-high eight-block performance against Oakland in her debut.
