Vikings Pick Up 3-0 Victory On Senior Night

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team wrapped up regular season play Friday evening, picking up a 3-0 sweep of Wright State on Senior Night. The Vikings finish the regular season with a 23-5 overall record and a 14-2 mark in Horizon League play and will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament (Nov. 18 – Nov. 20).

Match Stats
· Alexis Middlebrooks led the Viking offense with 11 kills on a .412 hitting percentage (11-4-17).
· Grace Kauth and Sara Skeens both added eight kills, while Gina Kilner tallied seven kills.
· Shannon Grega posted four service aces on the match, while Grace Kauth and Jordan Verbiak both tallied two.
· Grace Kauth notched a team-high 11 digs, while Gina Kilner added eight and Shannon Grega posted six.
· Alexis Middlebrooks recorded five blocks, while Grace Kauth and Sydney Mast both added two blocks.

Match Notes
· With her eight kills against Wright State, Grace Kauth moved into third place in the CSU Career Record book with 1,419 career kills.
· Kauth also moved into fifth place on the career digs list, finishing the match with 1,200 career digs.
· After posting four block assists against WSU, Alexis Middlebrooks eclipsed 300 block assists for her career, ending the match with 301 block assists.
· The Vikings finish the regular season with a 23-5 overall record and a 14-2 mark against league opponents.

Top-seeded Cleveland State will return to action in the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament – Saturday, November 19. The 2016 Horizon League Tournament will be hosted by the Vikings, and will take place in Woodling Gymnasium Friday, November 18 through Sunday, November 20.
