Vikings Drop Hard-Fought Five-Set Match At Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Cleveland State's 13-match winstreak came to an end Wednesday evening, as the Vikings dropped a hard-fought five-set contest at Green Bay. The Vikings now stand at 22-5 overall this season and 13-2 in Horizon League play.

Match Stats
• Three Vikings finished with double-digit kills on the match, led by Grace Kauth with 17 total kills.
Sara Skeens added 13 kills for the Vikings, while Alexis Middlebrooks tallied 10.
Gina Kilner posted 48 assists, along with five digs and four kills.
Shannon Grega tallied a team-high 20 digs, while Jordan Verbiak added nine digs.
• The trio of Alexis Middlebrooks, Aaliyah Slappy, and Grace Kauth all posted four blocks.
• As a team, the Vikings posted a .304 hitting percentage (58-17-135).

Match Notes
• Wednesday's five-set loss to the Phoenix snapped Cleveland State's 13-match winstreak, and also marked the first road loss for the Vikings during league play.
• With the 3-2 Green Bay win, the two teams split the season series, as Cleveland State claimed a 3-0 victory back in October.
• With her 48 assists, Gina Kilner eclipsed the 3,000-assist mark for her career, becoming just the sixth Viking to achieve the feat.
Shannon Grega's 20-dig performance marked her fourth 20+ dig match of the season, and the third against a league opponent.
• After posting 17 kills against Green Bay, Grace Kauth surpassed the 1,400-kill mark for her career, finishing the match with 1,411 kills.
