The Match
Despite the quick turnaround from the matches this weekend, Cleveland State came out firing to open the match, controlling play throughout the majority of the contest to pick up the 3-0 sweep. During the first set, the Vikings were able to gain a quick 4-1 lead following an Alexis Middlebrooks kill, and went on to hold the advantage for the rest of the frame. Although Green Bay was able to stay within a few points throughout the set, Cleveland State was finally able to distance itself at the 23-19 mark with a Sydney Mast kill, and then went on to capture the 25-22 set victory with a Grace Kauth kill.

The second set was much of the same, as the Vikings were able to gain the early advantage and then held the lead for the entire frame. The Phoenix once again kept the set close until the 18-14 mark when Cleveland State distanced itself with another Kauth kill, and then held off a Green Bay run to close out the frame with a block from Middlebrooks and Kauth.

During the third and final set, the two teams traded points through the first few plays, until Cleveland State went on an 11-2 run to gain a 20-9 lead with a Gina Kilner kill. The Vikings then posted five of the final seven points to earn the three-set victory, closing out the frame on yet another Kauth kill.
