Slappy Records Career-High Match As Vikings Defeat Milwaukee, 3-2

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team extended its current winstreak to four straight matches Friday evening, as the Vikings picked up a five-set thriller over Milwaukee. The Vikings now stand at 13-4 overall this season and 4-1 in Horizon League play.

Match Stats
· Alexis Middlebrooks led the Viking offense with 18 kills on a .382 hitting percentage.
· Aaliyah Slappy added 16 kills on a .407 clip, while Grace Kauth posted 13 kills.
· Gina Kilner recorded 51 assists against the Panthers.
· Shannon Grega tallied a team-high 17 digs to lead the Viking defense, while Grace Kauth added 14 digs.
· Aaliyah Slappy tallied a team-best 10 blocks, while Alexis Middlebrooks added seven and Gina Kilner posted five.
· As a team, the Vikings tallied a season-high 18.0 blocks, holding the Panthers to a .173 hitting percentage.

Match Notes
· Aaliyah Slappy recorded an unconventional double-double against Milwaukee, finishing the match with 16 kills and 10 blocks – both of which marked career-highs.
· Grace Kauth tallied her 10th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 14 digs.
· With her 13 kills, Grace Kauth moved into fifth place in the CSU Career Record book with 1,278 career kills.
· Aaliyah Slappy earned a spot in the top-10 list in the CSU Career Record book after posting nine block assists on the match, ending the contest ranked 10th with 258 career block assists.
· Aaliyah Slappy is also just four kills shy of recording 300 total blocks on her career, while Alexis Middlebrooks is eight blocks shy of 300 for her career.
· Gina Kilner became the sixth Viking all-time to eclipse the 2,600-assist mark for her career, ending the match with 2,649 helpers.
· Cleveland State now owns a record of 4-1 in five-set matches this season.
