Although the Vikings had a slow start to the second set, they were able to rebound midway through, battling back from a four-point deficit to regain an 18-14 advantage on a Gina Kilner kill. The Vikings were then able to control play throughout the rest of the frame, and put the set away with six consecutive points.

After the set was tied at 16-16, Cleveland State ran off eight straight points to earn a match-point at the 24-16 mark on an IUPUI error and then finally put the frame away two plays later with another Kauth kill – her 20th of the match.
