Vikings Win Eighth Straight With 3-1 Victory At Wright State

FAIRBORN, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team extended its winstreak to eight Saturday afternoon, after battling for a 3-1 victory at Wright State. The win over the Raiders also allowed the Vikings to remain perfect in Horizon League action, as CSU is now 5-0 in league play. Overall this season, the Vikings are 16-3.

Match Stats

· Christina Toth led the Viking offense with 17 kills, while Alexis Middlebrooks added 15 kills and Rachel Stover posted six kills.
· Grace Kauth notched her 10th double-double of the season with 15 kills and a career-high 23 digs.
· Dayna Roberts (14 digs) and Nikki Holmes (10 digs) also added double-digit digs for the Vikings – as both are closing in on the career digs top-10 list at CSU.
· Gina Kilner recorded 50 assists on the match, her fourth 50-assist match of the season.
· Alexis Middlebrooks tallied a team-high five blocks against the Raiders, while Grace Kauth added two.
· As a team, CSU recorded 64 kills on a .322 hitting percentage, its seventh match with at least 60 kills this season.

· With her 17 kills, Christina Toth surpassed 800 career kills, ending the match with 814.
· The Vikings extended their winstreak to eight straight matches with the 3-1 victory at Wright State, marking the seventh time that CSU has won eight consecutive contests under head coach Chuck Voss.
· Cleveland State remains perfect in Horizon League play with a 5-0 record – the only league team to be undefeated this season.
· Gina Kilner finished the match with 1,335 career assists – just 29 assists shy of earning a spot in the CSU career top-10 list.
