VIKINGS EARN NO. 5 SEED IN LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

CSU finished in a three-way tie with Youngstown State and UIC, but based on this year's outcomes between the three teams, the Vikings came away with the No. 5 seed.

VIKINGS IN THE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
With their No. 5 seed in this season's tournament, the Vikings have now earned a spot in the Horizon League Tournament during every year of head coach Chuck Voss' tenure. Under Voss, Cleveland State has advanced to the championship match of the Horizon League Tournament six times (2012, 2011, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2004) claiming the title during the 2007 and 2012 seasons. The Vikings have reached the semifinals 10 times, and hold an overall record of 14-12 in Horizon League Championship action.

VIKINGS ENTER LEAGUE TOURNAMENT ON WIN STREAK
The Vikings are entering the 2014 Horizon League Tournament on the upswing, as CSU has won three straight matches and four of its last six. This is just the second time this season that the Vikings have strung together three wins, also doing so during the early season tournament schedule.

TRIO OF VIKINGS EARN POSTSEASON HONORS
The Vikings were well represented in this year's postseason honors from the Horizon League, as Maggie Hannon and Grace Kauth were both named to the All-League Team, and Gina Kilner earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team. This marks the eighth straight season that a Viking has earned All-League honors, while it is the eighth time out of the last nine seasons that CSU has had a representative on the All-Freshman Team.

…MAGGIE HANNON | SENIOR | MIDDLE HITTER
Hannan picks up All-League honors for the second time in her career (2013), after leading the team and ranking seventh among league players with a .279 hitting percentage. She is averaging 2.67 kills per set, and has recorded double-digit kills in 14 matches. Hannon also has a team-high 90 total blocks on the season, averaging 0.92 blocks per set.

…GRACE KAUTH | SOPHOMORE | OUTSIDE HITTER
Kauth picks up All-League accolades after earning All-Freshman honors last season. She has a team-best 272 kills on the season, and is averaging 2.78 kills per set - a mark that ranks her ninth among league players. She also has 293 digs on the season, one of just six league players to have at least 250 kills and 250 digs this year. Kauth has notched nine double-doubles this season, while she has been CSU's top offensive threat during 11 contests.

…GINA KILNER | FRESHMAN | SETTER
Kilner has appeared in all 27 matches this season, recording a team-high 506 assists. Entering the Horizon League Tournament, Kilner ranks eighth among league players, averaging 5.50 assists per set. She has notched 40 or more assists in three matches, including a career-high of 49 against Youngstown State earlier this season.

LEAGUE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
The Vikings have been honored by the Horizon League with three weekly awards this season - with Maggie Hannon (Oct. 6) and Nikki Holmes (Sept. 15) earning Defensive Player of the Week honors, and Grace Kauth (Nov. 10) picking up Offensive Player of the Week accolades.

VIKINGS ON THE BLOCK
For the 10th time this season the Vikings posted double-digit team blocks, recording 11 total team blocks against Youngstown State last time out. Cleveland State has combined for 233 total team blocks this season, averaging 2.38 blocks per set. Cleveland State's 233 total team blocks is just shy of the CSU single-season top-10 record list, while the 2.38 blocks per set is tied for 10th on the single-season record list.

TOTH NOTCHES 500th CAREER KILL
Following her 11-kill performance at Youngstown State, Christina Toth surpassed 500 kills for her career, becoming the third current Viking with at least 500 kills on their career. Toth, who enters the week with 501 career kills, is averaging 2.57 kills per set this season, and has notched double-digit kills during 11 matches.

HANNON CRACKS BLOCK ASSISTS TOP-10
After combining for 11 block assists over the last two weeks of the regular season, Maggie Hannon cracked the CSU career block assists top-10 list, entering the tournament ranked 10th with 252 block assists. Hannon, who is one of just 10 Vikings to record 250 block assists on their career, is just three shy of moving into ninth place all-time.

…AND RANKS IN HITTING PERCENTAGE
Maggie Hannon also has her name in the top-10 in career hitting percentage, entering the weekend ranked sixth with a career attack percentage of .298. Hannon has led Cleveland State in the category the past two seasons, including a .330 clip last season that ranks eighth in the single-season record book. So far this season, Hannon has recorded a .279 hitting percentage, which ranks her seventh in the league standings.

HOLMES CLOSING IN ON 1,000 DIGS
Junior Nikki Holmes is closing in on 1,000 career digs, entering the tournament with 922. Holmes is averaging 4.20 digs per set this season, and has tallied a team-high 315 total digs. She has recorded 20 or more digs in five matches this season, including a season-high 25 against Oakland (Sept. 27).

CSU AMONG THE NATIONAL LEADERS
Entering the tournament Cleveland State continues to rank in the top-75 nationally in digs per set (47th - 16.43) and blocks per set (64th - 2.38) - while ranking second in the Horizon League in both categories. CSU is one of just two league teams to average over 16.00 digs per set this season and is also one of two league teams to average over 2.25 blocks per set on the year.

ROBERTS ON CAREER ASSIST LIST
Dayna Roberts continues to add to her career assist total, as she enters the Horizon League Tournament with 1,849 career assists. Roberts currently ranks seventh on the CSU all-time career assist list, and is on her way to becoming just the seventh Viking to record 2,000 assists all-time.
