QUICK SETS
The Cleveland State volleyball team will close out the 2014 regular season this weekend, traveling to Youngstown State for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Friday, November 14. Entering the final week of league play, CSU stands at 13-13 overall and 6-7 in league action.

THE MATCH-UP // YOUNGSTOWN STATE
Entering the final weekend of the 2014 regular season, Youngstown State stands in fourth place in the Horizon League standings, but has been struggling over the last two weeks, posting just a 1-3 record over this span. During the first half of league play, the Penguins posted a 5-2 mark - but have gone 2-4 the second time through Horizon League contests. 

EARLIER THIS SEASON…
The Vikings dropped their first contest against Youngstown State by a score of 3-1 earlier this season. Ally Beck recorded a double-double with 17 digs and 10 kills, while Grace Kauth tallied a match-high 15 kills and Gina Kilner recorded a career-best 49 assists.

VIKINGS EARN SPOT IN LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
After going 2-0 on their annual roadtrip to Wisconsin, the Vikings guaranteed themselves a spot in the 2014 Horizon League Tournament. The Vikings have now earned a spot in the Horizon League Tournament every year of head coach Chuck Voss' tenure, and will have to wait until the final weekend of regular season play to learn what seed they will earn.

KAUTH NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore Grace Kauth picked up Cleveland State's third weekly honor of the season from the Horizon League earlier this week, as she was named the Offensive Player of the Week after her performances at Green Bay and Milwaukee. Kauth recorded back-to-back double-doubles on the weekend, notching 13 kills and 19 digs against Green Bay, and 16 kills and 12 digs against Milwaukee.

VIKINGS RECORD SECOND WEEKEND SWEEP
Cleveland State's victories over Green Bay and Milwaukee last time out marked the Vikings' second weekend sweep of the season, as they also posted a perfect weekend at the CSU Invitational (Sept. 12-13) earlier this year. The two wins also improved CSU's record on the road to 4-2 in league matches, making the Vikings one of the better road teams in league action.

HANNON ON THE OFFENSIVE ATTACK
Senior Maggie Hannon recorded her 13th and 14th double-digit kill matches of the season last time out, recording 11 against Green Bay and Milwaukee. Hannon has been CSU's top offensive threat during 10 matches this season, and has a team-high .281 hitting percentage on the year. So far, Hannon has notched 733 kills on her career - a mark that leads all current Vikings.

VIKINGS ON THE BLOCK
For the ninth time this season the Vikings posted double-digit team blocks, recording 13 total team blocks against Milwaukee last time out. Cleveland State has combined for 222 total team blocks this season, averaging 2.36 blocks per set - a mark that is just shy of the single-season top-10 list at CSU. The Vikings notched a season-high 14 team blocks against Toledo earlier this season, while Maggie Hannon recorded an indivudal season-high 10 blocks against UIC in the first half of league play.

HANNON CRACKS BLOCK ASSISTS TOP-10
After posting nine block assists last weekend, senior Maggie Hannon has finally cracked the top-10 in the CSU career record book. Entering Friday's contest, Hannon has 250 block assists, and is one of just 10 Vikings to record 250 block assists on their career. This season, Hannon has recorded 88 total blocks, and is averaging 0.94 blocks per set - a mark that ranks her seventh among league players.

…AND RANKS IN HITTING PERCENTAGE
Maggie Hannon also has her name in the top-10 in career hitting percentage, entering the weekend ranked sixth with a career attack percentage of .298. Hannon has led Cleveland State in the category the past two seasons, including a .330 clip last season that ranks eighth in the single-season record book. So far this season, Hannon has recorded a .281 hitting percentage, which ranks her sixth in the league standings.

HOLMES CLOSING IN ON 1,000 DIGS
Junior Nikki Holmes is closing in on 1,000 career digs, entering Friday's contest with 922. Holmes is averaging 4.20 digs per set this season, and has tallied a team-high 315 total digs. She has recorded 20 or more digs in five matches this season, including a season-high 25 against Oakland (Sept. 27). 

CSU AMONG THE NATIONAL LEADERS
Entering the weekend Cleveland State continues to rank in the top-75 nationally in digs per set (39th - 16.50) and blocks per set (69th - 2.36) - while ranking second in the Horizon League in both categories. CSU is one of just two league teams to average over 16.00 digs per set this season and is also one of two league teams to average over 2.25 blocks per set on the year. 

ROBERTS ON CAREER ASSIST LIST
Dayna Roberts continues to add to her career assist total, as she combined for 35 assists last weekend, entering Friday's contest with 1,845 career assists. Roberts currently ranks seventh on the CSU all-time career assist list, and is on her way to becoming just the seventh Viking to record 2,000 assists all-time.

UP NEXT
After all regular season matches are complete, the Vikings will learn what seed they have earned in the upcoming 2014 Horizon League Tournament, and will begin play on Friday, November 21. The league tournament will run from Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23, and will be hosted by the regular season champion.
