Kauth Named Horizon League Offensive Player Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State volleyball team to a 2-0 record last weekend, sophomore Grace Kauth has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week. The honor is the first of the season for Kauth, and the second of her career.

Last weekend, Kauth and the Vikings recorded matching 3-1 victories over Green Bay and league-leading Milwaukee, improving their overall record to 13-13 this season. The Vikings also stand at 6-7 in league play, with one regular season match left to play (@ Youngstown State - Friday, November 14).

Kauth recorded back-to-back double-doubles last weekend, recording 13 kills and 19 digs against Green Bay, and 16 kills and 12 digs against Milwaukee. Her 16 kills against the Panthers marked a match-high, while it was also the fifth time that she has posted 15 or more kills this season.

With just one match left in the regular season, Kauth has notched eight double-doubles on the year, and has led the Viking offense during 10 contests.

For the season, Kauth has a team-high 256 total kills – averaging 2.72 kills per set which ranks her ninth among league players. She also has 282 total digs on the year (3.00 per set) and a team-high 22 service aces.
