Vikings Fall To Valparaiso, 3-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team opened its final homestand the regular season against Valparaiso Friday evening, falling to the Crusaders, 3-0. With the loss the Vikings now stand at 11-12 overall this season and 4-6 in Horizon League play.

Set scores against the Crusaders were 25-13, 25-9, 25-18.

Offensively the Vikings were led by the trio of Grace Kauth, Maggie Hannon, and Christina Toth – who combined for 19 kills on the match. Kauth had a team-high seven, while Hannon and Toth both posted six kills. Dayna Roberts recorded her ninth double-double of the season, notching 11 assists and 10 digs.

Shannon Grega and Nikki Holmes each posted eight digs for the Vikings, while Kauth added six. Aaliyah Slappy and Hannon each tallied a team-high three blocks.

The Vikings will close out the home portion of their schedule tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 1), facing UIC at 4:00 p.m. Tomorrow's contest will serve as Senior Day, with the team honoring Ally Beck and Maggie Hannon before the match.
