QUICK SETS
The Cleveland State volleyball team will return to the friendly confines of Woodling Gymnasium this weekend, as the Vikings continue Horizon League play against Milwaukee and Green Bay. Entering the weekend CSU stands at 9-8 overall and 2-2 in league action. The Vikings will open the weekend against Milwaukee on Friday, Oct. 10 and then face Green Bay on Saturday, Oct. 11.

THE MATCH-UP // MILWAUKEE
This will be the 53rd meeting between the two teams, with Milwaukee owning a 42-10 advantage in the overall series. The Vikings have won three of the last five meetings though, including both matchups during the 2012 season. 

Milwaukee is one of two teams to be undefeated in league play this year, and has won four of its last five matches.

THE MATCH-UP // GREEN BAY
This will be the 49th meeting between the two teams, with Cleveland State owning a 32-16 advantage in the overall series. Over the past nine seasons, the Vikings have won 16 of the 18 contests.

Green Bay enters the week on a six-match losing skid, and will be trying for its first league victory of the season.

VIKINGS ENJOY WOODLING GYMNASIUM
The Vikings have been close to perfect at home so far this season, owning a 5-1 record in Woodling Gymnasium. Cleveland State opened the season with five straight wins at home, before falling to Oakland last time out.

HANNON PICKS UP WEEKLY HONORS
Senior Maggie Hannon added to her list of accolades earlier this week, as she picked up Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honors. Hannon recorded a league-best 13 blocks on the weekend, including a career-high tying 10 against UIC. Hannon, who ranks fourth among league players averaging 1.03 blocks per set, is one of just three league players to post double-digit blocks in a match this season.

SLAPPY PICKS UP OFFENSE VS. UIC & VALPARAISO
Sophomore Aaliyah Slappy led the Viking offense against UIC last Friday, posting a career-high 10 kills on a career-best .562 hitting percentage (10-1-16). The 10-kill performance against the Flames marked the first double-digit kill match of her career. Slappy then followed that up with a seven-kill match against Valparaiso - a mark that tied her previous career-high.

BLOCKING EFFORTS VS. UIC
The Vikings recorded double-digit blocks for the fifth time this season against UIC last weekend, posting 13 total team blocks against the Flames. The Vikings had four players record multiple blocks against UIC, led by Maggie Hannon with 10 total blocks. For the season, CSU has notched 143 total team blocks, averaging 2.38 blocks per set which ranks 10th in the Cleveland State single-season record book .

VIKINGS IN THE LEAGUE STANDINGS
Entering the weekend, Cleveland State leads the league in blocks per set (2.38), while the Vikings rank second in digs per set (17.13) and aces per set (1.27). CSU's 13 service aces against Tennessee Tech earlier this year still stands as a single-match high among league teams, while the Vikings' 14-block performance versus Toledo ranks third among league teams this season. Cleveland State is one of just two league teams to average at least 17.00 digs per set throughout the first part of the season, with the 90-dig effort against Oakland ranking as the fourth highest single-match total.

…AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
Cleveland State also ranks in the top-75 nationally in digs per set (14th) and blocks per set (68th), while Nikki Holmes ranks 26th nationally averaging 5.00 digs per set. Holmes is one of just two league players to average at least 5.00 digs per set this season, recording a team-high 225 total digs.
