QUICK SETS
Cleveland State (20-6, 12-1) will close out the regular season this Thursday (Nov. 8), hosting Youngstown State at 7:00 p.m. Cleveland State enters Thursday's contest on a 10-match win streak, last falling to Loyola on September 28. The match versus Youngstown State will be CSU's final contest before starting play in the Horizon League Championship.

THE OPPONENT
YOUNGSTOWN STATE (15-12, 5-8) enters Thursday's contest fighting for a spot in the Horizon League Tournament. The Penguins have had their best season in more than a decade during 2012, more than doubling their win total from the past two years combined. As a team, YSU ranks second in the league in hitting percentage (.216) and blocks (2.27). Individually, Jenna Cavanaugh leads the league averaging 1.26 blocks per set, while Nikki Thompson leads the Penguins and ranks third in the league with 15 service aces.

CSU VS. THE OPPONENTS
After posting a 3-0 victory over the Penguins earlier this year, CSU holds a 51-13 advantage in the overall series. Entering Thursday's match, the Vikings have won 24 straight contests against YSU, dating back to the 2001 season.

BECK SETS CAREER-HIGH VS. VALPARAISO
Ally Beck set a career-high in last Saturday's match against Valparaiso, posting 12 digs during the five-set victory. Beck has now tallied double-digit digs in three matches so far this season - 11 at Green Bay (Sept. 21) & 10 vs. Wright State (Nov. 2).

HORIZON LEAGUE REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS!
With the two victories against Wright State and Valparaiso last weekend the Cleveland State volleyball team clinched the 2012 Horizon League Regular Season Championship. This marks the second time that the Vikings have been regular season champs, also doing so during the 2009 season. Over the past 10 years, the regular season crown has gone to Cleveland State (twice) or Milwaukee (8 times).

VIKINGS CONTINUE WIN STREAK
Entering Thursday's contest against Youngstown State, the Vikings are riding a 10-match win streak, last falling to Loyola on September 28. This marks the fourth time under head coach Chuck Voss that the Vikings have won at least 10-straight matches in a season, last doing so at the beginning of 2010 (10-straight). CSU tallied a program-best 12-match win streak during the middle of the 2009 season, while also posting 10 straight wins at the beginning of the 2002 season.

KOCH RANKS SECOND ON CAREER KILLS LIST
Following a 35-kill weekend, Kara Koch remains in second place on the CSU career kills list, entering the week with 1,515. Koch is one of just two Vikings to post at least 1,500 kills on their career, and enters the week with a team-high 439 kills on the season. She currently sits behind Jamie Bouyer (2001-04) who tallied a CSU record, 1,626 kills during her career.

...AND CLOSING IN ON 1,000 CAREER DIGS
Koch, who has now posted 14 double-doubles on the season and 38 on her career, is also closing in on 1,000 career digs, entering the week with 993. With one match left in the regular season, Koch needs just seven more to reach the 1,000 dig milestone. She would become the fifth Viking all-time to tally both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs on their career, joining Tenille Whiteside, Deirdre Laney, Michelle Iafigliola and Amy Ludwig.

CHASING THE RECORDS
Entering the week, three Vikings are in the top-10 on CSU career record lists, including senior Kara Koch who ranks in five categories. Koch ranks in the top-10 in Attack Attempts (1st-4,187), Kills Per Set (2nd-3.73), Kills (2nd-1,515), Points Per Set (2nd-4.15) and Total Points (2nd-1,684.5). Senior Marie Frease (3rd-.320) and junior Jackie Dabbelt (7th-.292) both rank in the top-10 in Hitting Percentage.

...FREASE & DABBELT IN THE HORIZON LEAGUE RECORD BOOK
Along with ranking in the CSU career record book, the duo of Marie Frease and Jackie Dabbelt also rank in the top-10 in career hitting percentage in the league record book. Frease, who currently has a career hitting percentage of .320 ranks third, while Dabbelt ranks sixth with a .292 hitting percentage. Cleveland State alum Jamie Bouyer (2001-04) leads the league with a .339 career hitting percentage.
