ATHENS, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team returned to action on Saturday, with a strong showing at the Cherry Blossom Invite.
Zoe Dellaserra represented the Vikings in sprint events on Saturday, recording a seventh place finish in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.99 and a 10th place finish in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 27.17.
The Vikings also had a pair of runners in the 400 Meter Hurdles, as Sara Timberlake posted a time of 1:13.93 and Colette Conway posted a time of 1:14.08.
Margaret Smith and Dynesty Ervin both posted 11th place finishes in mid-distance events for the Vikings, Smith notching her finish with a time of 2:19.84 in the 800 Meter Run and Ervin posting her finish with a time of 1:00.72 in the 400 Meter Dash.
Hannah Korte recorded Cleveland State's top distance performance on Saturday, placing 10th in the 3000 Meter Run with a time of 11:03.18. Kiannah Sarver also notched a top-15 finish in the 3000 Meter Run, placing 13th overall with a time of 11:25.44.
Brooke Armbruster was the lone Viking to participate in field events on Saturday, placing seventh in the Javelin with a mark of 17.03.
The quartet of Ervin, Dellaserra, Madelynn Madison, and Smith posted a fifth place finish in the 4x400 Meter Relay, finishing with a time of 4:20.70.
The Vikings will be back in action next weekend, participating in the Jesse Owens Invite on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23.
