Cleveland State’s Brandt Wins 800 Meter Title At #HLTF Outdoor Championships

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team wrapped up action at the 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Championships Sunday, paced by Anna Brandt who won the 800 Meter Run.

Brandt posted a program record time of 2:14.00 in Sunday's 800 Meter Run finals, knocking nearly one second off of her prelims time from Saturday.

Brandt's 800 Meter Run performance marked the first Horizon League Championship event win for the Vikings in program history, while it also gave her First Team All-League honors.

Tylar Mixon was Cleveland State's second finals competitor on Sunday, as she finished third in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 24.85. Mixon's 200 finals time was nearly half a second faster than her prelims time on Saturday, while it marked a program record in the event.

This marked Mixon's second top-three finish of the weekend, as she also finished third in the 100 Meter Dash on Saturday.

Through three days of the 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Championships, the Vikings recorded six podium finishes while earning three #HLTF honors.
