Track & Field Set For Silverston Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team will compete in its final tune-up before the Horizon League Indoor Championship this weekend, as the Vikings are set to participate in the Silverston Invitational hosted by Michigan on Friday, February 21.

Friday's meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m., with all running events on a rolling time schedule.

The Vikings will be one of nine teams competing on Friday, with five Vikings in action:
Monica Johnson – 60H
Dynesty Ervin – 200, 400
Margaret Smith – 800
Anna Brandt – Mile
Hannah Korte – 3000

The Silverston Invitational will mark the eighth of nine indoor meets for the Vikings this season, and will be the final tune-up before the Horizon League Indoor Championship, which is slated to take place Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1.

Last time out, the Vikings participated in the Doug Raymond National Qualifier, with Cleveland State's top field finish coming from Kaelin Stahl in the Pole Vault (3rd – 3.30) and the top track finish coming from Anna Brandt in the 3000 Meter Run (6th – 10:10.70).

Entering the weekend, three Vikings rank in the top-five among Horizon League finishes, as Monica Johnson ranks second in the 60 Meter Hurdles, Anna Brandt ranks fourth in the 800 Meter Run and Azsah Bradley ranks fifth in the 60 Meter Dash. In addition, Cleveland State's 4x400 relay team of Mijah Collier, Anna Brandt, Dyamond Myers, and Dynesty Ervin, also ranks fourth among league teams.
