Track & Field Announces Roster Additions For 2019-20 Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State track and field head coach Madeleine Outman Carleton announced the incoming class for the 2019-20 season Monday morning, with five sprinters, two middle-distance and three distance runners joining the Vikings for the upcoming year.

"This is our best class ever in terms of depth of quality, with several young ladies who will make an impact in the Horizon League right away. Our recruiting coordinator Myles Tyler has done an incredible job this year in promoting the great product that is Cleveland State Athletics, and we are looking forward to the contributions that these student-athletes will make both on the track and in the classroom," Outman Carleton said.

SPRINTS
Azsah Bradley
High School: Named All-Ohio following her high school career…qualified for the Outdoor State Championship in the 100 and 200 Meter Dash during her final campaign, recording top-five finishes in both events…also part of the Ravenna High School 4x100 Relay Team that qualified for the State meet…finished as the runner-up in the 60 and 200 Meter Dash at the Indoor State Championship as a senior…set a District Championship meet record in the 200 Meter Dash…finished her senior season with the fastest 100 Meter Dash time in the state of Ohio, becoming the program's first #1 ranked recruit.

Academics: Three-time PTC Scholar-Athlete…named the PTC Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior.

Dynesty Ervin
High School: Named All-Ohio as a senior after qualifying for the State Championship in the 100 and 200 Meter Dash, finishing second in the 200 and third in the 100…earned All-League honors four times throughout her high school career…four-time indoor and outdoor state qualifier in the 60, 100 and 200 Meter Dash…placed in the top-12 at the State Championship in at least one race every year of her high school campaign.

Dyamond Myers
High School: Four-time State Championship qualifier, competing in the 200 and 400 Meter Dash and relay events…part of the Akron Buchtel High School 4x200 Relay Team that was a three-time state champion…also part of the 4x100 and 4x400 Relay Teams that finished as runner-up at the state meet…four-time City Champion in the 200 and 400 Meter Dash and relay events.

Allison Pankow
High School: Earned All-Ohio accolades during her final campaign…part of the State Championship qualifying 4x100 and 4x200 Relay Teams as a senior…qualified for the Regional Championship in the 200 Meter Dash as a senior…named Second Team All-Greater Cleveland Conference in the 4x100 Relay as a senior…part of the Medina High School 4x100 and 4x200 Relay Teams that qualified for the State Championship and set school records as a junior.

Academics: Named Academic All-Ohio.

Maritza Strong
High School: Part of the Villa Angela-St. Joseph 4x200 Relay Team that qualified for the indoor and outdoor State Championship meet…member of the 4x200 Relay Team that finished first at the District Championship…Regional Qualifier and AAU National Qualifier in the 400 Meter Dash.

MID-DISTANCE
Margaret Smith
High School: Captured the Northern Lakes League championship in the 400 Meter Dash as a senior…also finished first at the District Championship in the 800 Meter Run during her final campaign…part of the Anthony Wayne High School 4x800 Relay Team that qualified for the State Championship.

Kayla Zdanowicz
High School: Two-time state qualifier…part of the Mentor High School District championship team…part of the Distance Medley Relay Team that set a school record.

DISTANCE
Hannah Korte
High School: Named the Cincinnati Hills League Runner of the Year as a senior after capturing the CHL individual title in cross country…two-time cross country First Team All-CHL honoree as a junior and senior…also named First Team All-City during her final campaign and qualified for the cross country State Championship as an individual…named track and field First Team All-Cincinnati Hills League as a senior after winning the 3200 Meter Run title…earned Second Team All-CHL and Honorable Mention All-City as a junior…finished her high school career as the Taylor High School record holder in the 3200 Meter Run.

Academics: Named Academic All-Ohio.

Emily Nemeth
High School: Three-time Regional qualifier in cross country and two-time Regional qualifier in track…two-time First Team All-Lorain County…named the Elyria High School distance MVP…member of the record setting 4x1600 Relay Team.

Academics: Member of the Lorain County Athletic Administrators Association Honor Roll…named a National Scholar-Athlete by the United States Army Reserve.

Haley Rozeski
High School: Named First Team All-Eastern Buckeye Conference as a senior and Second Team All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference as a junior in cross country…two-time All-Ohio honoree in indoor and outdoor track & field as a junior and senior…named the 2019 Columbiana County Track Runner of the Year…earned Honorable Mention NBC and EBC accolades as a junior and senior…part of the Salem High School record setting 4x400 Relay Team.

Academics: Three-time NBC Scholar-Athlete…two-time EBC Scholar-Athlete.
