Track & Field To Compete At Jesse Owens Relays

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team will participate in its final tune-up before the 2019 Horizon League Outdoor Championship this weekend, taking part in the Jesse Owens Relays hosted by Ohio State. The two-day meet will take place on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27.

Complete Jesse Owens Relays Schedule | On Friday, field events will begin at 2:00 p.m. while running events will start at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday, field events are set to begin at 10:30 a.m. with running events slated for a 12:00 p.m. start.

Vikings In Action | Cleveland State will be competing with a select squad at the Jesse Owens Relays, as the Vikings are set to compete in the Javelin (Julianne Dorothal), High Jump (Hannah Gaskins), 100 Hurdles (Monica Johnson, Mijah Collier), 400 Hurdles (Mijah Collier), 200 Meter Dash (Tylar Mixon), 4x100 Relay, and 4x400 Relay.

Winner, Winner | Last time out, the Vikings recorded four first place finishes at the CWRU Invitational, taking home event wins in the 100 Meter Hurdles, 100 Meter Dash, Javelin, and 4x400 Meter Relay. For the outdoor season, the Vikings have now won five titles.

Vikings Among #HLTF Marks | Entering the weekend, Cleveland State ranks in the top-five among Horizon League athletes in two individual events and two relay events. Monica Johnson ranks fifth in the 100 Meter Hurdles and Julianne Dorothal ranks fourth in the Javelin, while the Vikings rank second in the 4x100 Relay and fourth in the 4x400 Relay.

2019 #HLTF Outdoor Championship | This weekend's meet will be the final tune-up for the Vikings before this year's Horizon League Outdoor championship, which is slated for May 3-5, and will be hosted by Youngstown State.
