Track & Field Returns To Action At Ball State Challenge

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team will compete in its third meet of the outdoor season this weekend, taking part in the Ball State Challenge on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.

Complete Ball State Challenge Schedule | The 5000 Meter Run will take place at 6:35 p.m. on Friday evening, while the majority of the field events will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and the rest of the track events are slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

2019 Outdoor Schedule | This weekend's meet will be the third of seven outdoor meets for the Vikings this season.

Winner, Winner | Last time out, Hannah Gaskins picked up the first event win of the 2019 outdoor season, placing first in the High Jump at the Fred Hardy Invitational. Gaskins recorded a mark of 1.60 to win the event, which marked her second mark of 1.60 or higher this season.

CSU Record Book | The Vikings recorded a pair of program records at the Fred Hardy Invitational last time out, as Tylar Mixon ran a program-best time of 25.34 in the 200 Meter Dash and Julianne Dorothal posted a program-best mark of 34.18 in the Javelin.

#HLTF Standings | Entering the weekend, Cleveland State owns five individual and two relay top-five marks in the Horizon League, with the highest ranking coming in the 4x100 Meter Relay (2nd). Individually, Tylar Mixon (200, 3rd), Mijah Collier (100H, 3rd), Monica Johnson (100H, 5th), Hannah Gaskins (High Jump, 5th), and Julianne Dorothal (Javelin, 4th) currently stand in the top-five.
