Vikings Finish With Four Program Records At Spire Invitational/Penn State National

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team continued the indoor season this weekend, competing at the Spire Invitational and Penn State National, recording four program records throughout both meets.

Penn State National
Anna Brandt posted a Cleveland State record time in the Mile Run at the PSU National, finishing third in her event with a time of 4:58.32. Brandt, who eclipsed the 5:00 mark for the first time in her career, was accepted into the PSU National in the mile after recording a five-flat mile earlier this year.

Spire Invitational
Sprints
The Vikings earned a spot in both the 60 Meter Hurdle and 60 Meter Dash finals, with Monica Johnson and Mijah Collier earning the nod in the 60 Hurdles and Tylar Mixon earning the honor in the 60 dash. In the 60 Meter Hurdles, Johnson placed sixth with a time of 9.07, marking a Cleveland State record in the event, while Collier finished ninth in 9.36. In the 60 dash, Mixon crossed the finish line in a season-best time of 7.89 to finish sixth overall.

Cleveland State also posted a program record in the 200 Meter Dash, as Mixon bettered her own mark from earlier this year with a time of 25.91 to finish sixth in the event.

Mid-Distance
Deja Emmanus was Cleveland State's top finisher in mid-distance events, placing fourth overall in the 600 Meter Run with a program record time of 1:40.48. Mijah Collier also recorded a top-10 finish for the Vikings in the 600 Meter Run, placing 10th with a time of 1:49.75.

Distance
Cleveland State's best finish in distance events came in the 3000 Meter Run, as Abbey Rojeck finished sixth overall with a time of 11:20.77 The Vikings also had a quartet of Vikings compete in the Mile, led by Graicen Riley who finished in a time of 5:32.72.

Field
Julianne Dorothal was the lone Viking to compete in the field events Saturday, placing 13th in the High Jump (1.48) and 14th in the Shot Put (10.73).

Relays
Cleveland State's best finish in the relay events came in the 4x800 Relay, when Deja Emmanus, Adelle Tannous, Graicen Riley, and Heather McArdle finished second in a time of 9:59.00. The Vikings also recorded a top-10 finish in the DMR, with Lily Michael, Mijah Collier, Korrin Spurlock, and Grace Holmes placing seventh (13:26.31).
