Butterbaugh Named To Horizon League Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced its Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Teams Monday afternoon, with Cleveland State senior Samantha Butterbaugh earning a spot on the 19-member team. 

Butterbaugh, who has been Cleveland State's top distance runner and an integral part of Cleveland State relays this winter, owns a 3.98 GPA as a health sciences major.

Butterbaugh is a six-time Cleveland State Dean's List honoree, and has been honored at the CSU Athletics Academic Honors luncheon every year of her Viking career.

As a three-season student-athlete, Butterbaugh also competes on the cross country team, owning multiple top-40 5K and 6K times in the CSU Career Record Book, while she also helped the Vikings to their best finish at the Horizon League Championship last fall.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with Academic All-League honors in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher (Based on a 4.00 scale) and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits.
