CLEVELAND - David Howell, a record setting player and former interim head coach at Allegheny College, has been named to the tennis coaching staff at Cleveland State University, head coach Brian Etzkin has announced.

"I'm very excited to have David as a member of our program," Etzkin said. "His teaching experience will be extremely beneficial to the success of the men's and women's teams this season."

Howell joins the Viking coaching staff after serving as interim head coach at Allegheny College in the fall of 2002. In addition, he served as an assistant coach at St. Lawrence University in 2001-02.
