WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team earned a spot in the 2024 Horizon League Championship Match, following a 4-3 victory over Northern Kentucky in the #HLTennis semifinals on Saturday.

With Saturday's win, the Vikings will be making their sixth #HLTennis Championship match appearance and second straight.

Despite dropping the doubles point, the Vikings were able to quickly even the score to begin singles play, as a 6-2, 6-1 win from Bethany Yauch at No. 3 singles put the first point on the board for Cleveland State.

With her win against Northern Kentucky, Yauch recorded the 70th singles win of her career, becoming the 10th Viking all-time to reach the milestone.

Northern Kentucky responded with a pair of wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles to gain a 3-1 advantage, but Oihane Vicario put another point on the board for the Vikings with a 7-6, 6-4 win at the top of the lineup.

Vicario's win marked her 25th of the season, moving her into a tie for third place on the CSU Single-Season Wins List.

Sima Heren then evened the match at No. 2 singles, earning a 6-4, 7-6 victory to put the score at 3-3 with the No. 5 singles match remaining.

After picking up a 7-6 win in the first set, Ella Franz dropped a 4-6 decision in the second frame before battling for a 6-3 win to clinch the match for the Vikings.
