Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Sweeps #HLTennis Weekly Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the seventh time this season the Cleveland State women's tennis team has swept the Horizon League weekly awards, with Oihane Vicario earning Singles Player of the Week accolades and Bethany Yauch/Selma Tounsi being named the Doubles Team of the Week. 

Last time out, this trio helped the Vikings to a pair of 7-0 sweeps over IUPUI and Northern Kentucky. 

Vicario picks up Singles Player of the Week honors for the league-leading fifth time this season, after going 2-0 at the No. 1 spot last weekend. Vicario opened with a 6-4, 6-1 win against IUPUI and followed that up with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Northern Kentucky. 

The two wins extended her current win streak to seven straight matches, and kept her perfect in Horizon League play at 5-0. Vicario now has a team-best 23-9 record on the year, with the 23 wins tied for eighth on the CSU Single-Season Wins List.  

Tounsi and Yauch paired up on the doubles court for the first time this weekend to celebrate senior day, with the duo picking up a 6-2 win at the top of the doubles lineup against IUPUI. In addition, the pair also played an unfinished match at No. 2 doubles against Northern Kentucky. 

Tounsi and Yauch helped the Vikings pick up the doubles point against IUPUI, marking the 13th time this season that Cleveland State has earned the early advantage.
