Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Earns 5-2 Victory Over Radford

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team got back in the win column Sunday, picking up a 5-2 victory over Radford in a neutral site match. 

Cleveland State was able to pick up the early doubles point with wins at the top two spots, as Sima Heren/Bethany Yauch earned a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles and Oihane Vicario/Filippa Frogner posted a 6-0 win at the No. 2 spot. 

The Vikings then extended their lead over the start of singles play, as Heren earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory to put Cleveland State up 2-0, before a 6-1, 7-6(4) win from Tereze Vevere at No. 3 singles gave the Vikings a 3-0 lead. 

Cleveland State's clinching point came from Yauch at No. 4 singles then, as a 6-1, 7-6(7) victory for the senior secured the win for the Vikings. 

Frogner added on Cleveland State's final singles point of the day, posting a 6-2, 1-6, 1-0(9) win at No. 5 singles to close out the 5-2 victory.

The Vikings will return home for their lone contest next week, hosting Bowling Green at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16.
