Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Set For Final Fall Tournament

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will close out the fall portion of the 2023-24 campaign this weekend, taking part in the Bronco Super Challenge hosted by Western Michigan on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11. 

Cleveland State will be one of five teams at the round-robin tournament, joining Eastern Michigan, Oakland, Chicago State, and Western Michigan.  

Entering the weekend, Sima Heren and Tereze Vevere lead the Vikings with a 6-3 singles record through three tournaments, while Oihane Vicario stands at 5-3 heading into the final weekend of play. 

In doubles, Vevere and Ella Franz have a team-best 7-2 record, while Heren and Bethany Yauch own a 7-3 record so far this season.  

Cleveland State has claimed three titles during the fall season, with Vicario claiming the singles title at the Viking Invitational and Heren/Yauch and Vevere/Franz both capturing their respective doubles titles at the Rocket Invite. 

This weekend's tournament will be the fourth and final tournament of the fall season for the Vikings, with Cleveland State returning to action after the New Year for its spring slate.
