CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team kicked off its 2021 fall campaign Friday, opening play at the Eagles Invitational hosted by Eastern Michigan.

Friday's matches consisted of one round of doubles and two rounds of singles.

Selma Tounsi and Oihani Vicario picked up the lone doubles win for the Vikings on the first day of action, as the duo posted a 6-3 win over a Findlay tandem.

Cleveland State also picked up four singles wins on the day, including a main draw win from Oihane Vicario against Eastern Michigan's Sabina Brichackova (7-6(4), 7-5). Bethany Yauch, Filippa Frogner and Sima Heren each picked up a win in consolation play.

Action at the Eagles Invitational will wrap up tomorrow (Saturday, October 2), with two rounds of doubles and two rounds of singles.
