Avram Earns Spot On #HLWTEN All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2020 Women's Tennis All-Academic Team Tuesday afternoon, with Cleveland State senior Kateryna Avram earning a spot on the seven-player team.

Avram, who earned a spot on the All-Academic Team for the first time in her CSU career, carries a 3.97 GPA pursuing a degree in business. The senior transfer has been named to the Cleveland State Dean's List every semester she has been enrolled at CSU, and is a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.

On the court, Avram finished the shortened campaign with a 16-9 overall singles record, including an 11-2 mark during the spring season. Avram opened the 2020 spring campaign with eight straight wins playing throughout the singles lineup.

Avram was named the Horizon League Singles Player of the Week on February 18 after picking up singles wins against Buffalo and Seton Hall.

In doubles action, Avram combined for a 16-8 record on the year, including a 10-1 mark with Blanche Lenoan during dual match play – with the 10 wins marking a league-best during the spring season. Avram and Lenoan were named the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week on March 3 following back-to-back wins against St. Bonaventure and Niagara.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with Academic All-League honors in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher and have completed at least one year at the member institution.
