The Vikings return four letterwinners from last season's squad that captured the 2017 Horizon League Regular Season Championship, including Horizon League honoree, Isabella Spindler. This core group will be joined by three newcomers for the fall season – Kristina Fernandez (Coral Gables, Fla.), Anastasia Perin (Brussels, Belgium) and Gaby Shoenberg (Ingleside, Ill.).

After notching her 50th career victory last season, senior Aleksandra Golawska enters the 2017-18 campaign just shy of earning a spot on the CSU Singles Wins List, needing just seven more wins to crack the top-10. Golawska is also part of the only current CSU doubles team that ranks on the CSU Doubles Wins List, as she has paired with Spindler over the last two seasons to combine for 22 wins, a mark that is tied for sixth.

Head coach Brian Etzkin, who is entering his 16th season at the helm of the Vikings, is the all-time winningest coach in program history and has led Cleveland State to three Horizon League Regular Season titles and three Horizon League Tournament Championship match appearances.
