Women’s Tennis Continues Fall Season At ITA Midwest Regional

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will continue the fall season at the ITA Midwest Regional this week, with five Vikings playing in the Qualifying Singles Draw and three doubles teams competing. This year's Midwest Regional will be hosted at Michigan State, and will run from Thursday, October 20 through Tuesday, October 25.

Qualifying Singles Draw
The five Vikings earning a spot in the Qualifying Singles Draw are Jana Schober, Isabella Spindler, Victoria Bensimon, Princess Gbadamosi, and Aleksandra Golawska. This group will be trying for three singles wins over the first two days of the tournament, which will advance them to the Main Singles Draw.

After going 3-3 during the first two tournaments of the fall season, Spindler earned a No. 4 seed in the Qualifying Singles Draw and has earned a bye to the second round of action.

Cleveland State's three doubles teams that earned a spot in the Main Doubles Draw are; Golawska/Spindler, Gbadamosi/Bensimon, and Schober/Blanche Lenoan.

Cleveland State will be one of 19 teams competing at the Midwest Regional, including Horizon League opponents Youngstown State, Valparaiso, Milwaukee, and Detroit.

Qualifying Singles Draw | Consists of 64 players, with the final eight advancing to the main singles draw.

Main Singles Draw | Consists of 64 players, including the eight players that advanced through the qualifying bracket, with the winner earning a berth in the ITA National Indoor Championship.

Main Doubles Draw | Consists of 64 doubles teams, with the winner earning a berth in the ITA National Indoor Championship.
