INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State senior diver Kacey Cummings has been named the Horizon League `Diver of the Week' for the seventh time in her career after her performance at the Cleveland Dual Meet Invitational last Tuesday (Nov. 29). The league office made the announcement on Monday afternoon.

Cummings, the league's `Diver of the Meet' at the 2011 Horizon League Championships, swept the diving events at the Cleveland Dual Meet Invitational. She won the 1-meter diving event with a 276.65 and the 3-meter with a score of 284.50.

Both scores were season-highs for Cummings and qualified her for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships for the second consecutive season. Only Youngstown State's Casey Hill has scored higher in the Horizon League on either board this season.

"Kacey has been working really hard and has been committed to reaching her zone scores," diving coach Rich Karban said. "She came out at the Cleveland Dual Meet Invitational and performed very well. This is the earliest in the season that she has become eligible for the Zone Championships, and she'll continue to work hard and be ready to go for the rest of the season. "

With her third weekly honor of the season, Cummings tied YSU's Hill for the most female `Diver of the Week' awards this season.

Last year, Cummings won the weekly award a league-high four times (Dec. 7, Jan. 18, Jan. 25, Jan. 31).

Cummings and the Vikings will be off until Jan. 7, 2012 when they compete in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. during their annual training trip.
