The Cleveland State women's swimming team wrapped up competition at the Zippy Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 7. In the final day the Vikings had six swimmers record their season-best times in four different events. At the conclusion of the meet, CSU finished 11th with 231 points.

"We continue to move the team in the direction of being competitive day in and day out. This weekend we learned a lot about ourselves, individually and as a team, and what we need to work on to be successful at the end of the year," assistant coach Andrew Hancock said. "Even through the fatigue of the weekend we finished our races strong and that's what it will be about when we get to the conference meet."

Six Vikings recorded their top times of the season in the 100 free, 1,650 free, 200 back and 200 breast events. Carys Behn bettered her own seventh-best time in school history in the 100 free, finishing in 53.11. Maria Culjak (56.17) and Emily Splain (55.34) also bettered their own top times of the season in the event. In the 1,650 free, Erin Green recorded a solid time of 18:20.90. In the 200 back, Sandra Bunker bettered her top time of the season with a 2:19.98 while Brittany McCann posted her season-best time of 2:44.08 in the 200 breast.

The team will focus on final exams before heading to Florida for a training trip later in the month. The Vikings' next competition is set for December 20 in Florida.
