There Cleveland State women had some of their best swims of the season against Ohio State on Nov. 25. Despite falling to the Buckeyes 178-81, the Vikings posted wins in two events and set a school record in the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium Tuesday night.

"It is good for our program to swim big-time college athletic programs like Ohio State," head coach Wally Morton said. "They are one of the highlights of our season and a chance for us to see if we can bring it up to their level. Tonight our women represented themselves well, showed good team spirit and are showing continued improvement every meet."

Freshman Carys Behn continues to shine for the Vikings. She picked up both of CSU's wins over the Buckeyes, including the second school record of her career. Behn swam the best time in school history to win the 200 freestyle (1:52.52) and later swam the sixth-fastest time in CSU history to win the 50 freestyle (24.39). She also finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:11.75) and swam the second leg of CSU's second-place 200 freestyle relay. Behn's first school record came in the 500 freestyle on Nov. 7 (5:04.53).

Whitney Hickey recorded the team's fastest time of the season in the 50 backstroke during her second-place finish (28.38) and the women's 200 freestyle relay of Emily Splain, Behn, Kristina Nagy and Kristine Bunker also posted a new season-best time during a second-place finish (1:39.93).

Other notable performances for the Vikings included a season-best time from Emily Splain in the 100 butterfly (59.92, 3rd) and 50 freestyle where she led off the 200 freestyle relay in 25.21. CSU also captured a 2-3-4 finish in the 50 butterfly led by Splain (27.04), Hickey (27.50) and Katie Bellew (28.22). In the 200 IM, the Vikings finished 2-3-4 with Maria Culjak (2:17.57), Rachel Arzadon (2:25.63) and Brittany McCann (2:28.58).

The team has an off week before heading to the Akron University Invitational Dec. 5-7.
