Columbus, Ohio - Joanna Olsson and Allison Pallija led the Vikings with two first place finishes, as the Cleveland State women's swimming team was handed its first dual meet loss since October 24. The Vikings fell at Ohio State128-68.

"We are coming off the TYR Invitational and we expected to be challenged in today's meet," head coach Wally Morton said. "Under the circumstances we had some good swims tonight from certain swimmers, such as Joanna and Alice."

Following a record setting performance this past weekend in the 200 IM, Olsson touched first with a time of 2:07.59, out touching the second place finisher by two seconds. She also took home a pair of second place finishes in the 500 free (5:03.54) and the 1,000 free (10:23.82).

Pallija recorded the second individual victory for CSU, finishing the 100 breast in a time of 1:10.48.

The 800 free relay team of Carys Behn, Jamie Puls, Emily Splain and Whitney Hickey finished in a time of 8:05.61, taking home a first place finish.

Carys Behn placed second for the Vikings in the 100 free, touching in 53.02, while Alice Sommerville recorded two third place finishes in the 100 fly (57.34) and barely missing a first place finish in the 50 free (24.07). Sommerville's 100 fly time marked her fastest of the season.

Michelle Ferro, Emily Simard, Sommerville and Puls worked together to give the Vikings a third place finish in the 200 medley relay touching in 1:48.84, just five-tenths of a second behind the first place team.

"Now we can go back to hard training and prepare for the spring semester schedule," Morton said. "When we come back in January we will have the Holiday Invitational to get the team back into competition and ready for the rest of the season."

CSU will now wait until the new year to return to action when they compete in the Holiday Invitational on January 9, 2010 at a site that is yet to be determined.
